When is Saturn retrograde in 2026?
Saturn stationed retrograde on 27 July 2026, at about 00:27 IST (26 July, 18:57 UTC), at 20°31′ Pisces. It turns direct on 11 December 2026 at about 05:59 IST (00:29 UTC), at 13°42′ Pisces. Between the two stations it walks back just under seven degrees of the sign, and that stretch — from Revati into Uttara Bhadrapada — is the ground this forecast reads. All of it is sidereal, by the Lahiri ayanamsa (the correction that separates the Vedic zodiac from the Western one, by about 24 degrees at present). In the tropical zodiac used by Western astrology the same retrograde runs from Aries back into Pisces, which is why a Western forecast and this one name different signs for the same planet.

Saturn retrograde 2026 is one transit with two stations, and most of what is written about it is written for the tropical zodiac. This is the Vedic reading. Saturn has been retrograde in Pisces since July and stays so until 11 December 2026. It is in Revati now, steps back into Uttara Bhadrapada on 9 October, and turns direct at 13°42′ Pisces on 11 December. What this transit presses
Retrograde Saturn revisits ground already covered. Themes from the months before the July station come back for a second pass: unfinished roles, delayed promotions, clients who went quiet, titles that looked good and felt hollow. Pisces softens the edges of ambition and asks for meaning; Saturn refuses to let meaning become an excuse for unfinished work. The useful response is neither panic nor spiritual escape. It is completion, with a record of it.

The classical rules behind the reading
Retrograde Saturn. A retrograde planet in transit revisits the degrees it has already crossed; the tradition reads this as a second pass over the same matters, and treats the retrograde as stronger in effect, not weaker. Saturn retrograde over a house is Saturn insisting.
Saturn's transit from the Moon. Classically Saturn gives good results transiting the third, sixth and eleventh from the Moon, and difficult ones elsewhere — with the twelfth, first and second being sade sati and the fourth and eighth the dhaiya. The lagna reading above is the modern complement; where the two differ, the Moon governs how it feels and the lagna what happens.
Nakshatra over sign. Saturn in Revati and Saturn in Uttara Bhadrapada are two different transits inside one sign — Mercury's hand, then Saturn's own. That is why the ninety days are cut at 9 October.
Ashtakavarga. Saturn over a sign carrying twenty-eight or more bindus in your Sarvashtakavarga gives structure; over one carrying under twenty-five it gives friction. Your Pisces count is the single number that most changes this forecast for you.

- Find Pisces from your lagna. Count from your rising sign; the number you reach is the house Saturn is auditing. The table above tells you what that house holds.
- Find Pisces from your Moon. Count again from your Moon sign. If it is the twelfth, first or second, you are in sade sati; if the fourth or eighth, in dhaiya. Either changes the weight of everything above.
- Look at your natal Saturn. Its sign, house and nakshatra at birth decide whether transiting Saturn is a friend returning or a creditor. A Saturn that is exalted, in its own sign, or a yogakaraka for your lagna makes this a building transit.

Questions we are asked
Is retrograde Saturn worse than direct? Different, not worse. Direct Saturn brings new demands; retrograde Saturn brings old ones back. If the old ones were handled, the retrograde is quiet.
Should I change jobs during this transit? Complete before you change. Saturn rewards the person who leaves with the work finished and punishes the one who leaves to escape it. The window after 11 December, with Saturn direct, is better for a new start than the weeks before.
Which lagnas have it hardest? Pisces, Leo and Virgo — Saturn on the first, eighth and seventh. Libra and Capricorn have it easiest, with Saturn as a friend in a working house.
When does Saturn leave Pisces? 3 June 2027, into Aries — with a return to Pisces from 20 October 2027 to 23 February 2028, after which it is in Aries for good.
