An astrologer online consultation with the Institute is a private, live session with one of our senior astrologers, who reads your birth chart with you — on an audio call or by chat, in English, Hindi or Punjabi. At present, consultations are charged by the minute, so you pay only for the time you use.
The Institute has given consultations to clients across India and around the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the UAE and the Gulf, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Wherever you live, you are welcome, and the reading is the same: your whole chart, read with care, with your questions at the centre of it.
This page explains how a session works, what it helps to have ready, and what you can expect from us.
What a private consultation is
All we need from you are three things — your date, time and place of birth. From these, your astrologer builds your whole chart: the lagna (the sign rising at your birth), the Moon, the nine grahas (the planets of Jyotish) in their signs and mansions, the divisional charts, and the dasha clock — the sequence of planetary periods — that has been running since the day you were born.
Your astrologer then reads that chart in the Astro River reading order — the feel of the chart first, then the lagna, then Moon, Saturn and Ketu for where the struggle and the purpose sit, then which planets are strong and what they rule, then the fourth, seventh and fifth houses, then the nakshatras (the twenty-seven lunar mansions) and their sub-lords (the finer divisions within each), then the divisionals, then the running dasha, then the transits overhead now, and Ashtakavarga last — a points system scored for every planet and sign — as the check that settles anything still ambiguous.
We follow this order in every session, because it is what allows two people with the same Moon sign to receive two genuinely different readings.
How a session is held, and how it is charged
At present, consultations are held on an audio call or by chat — whichever you are more comfortable with.
Consultations are currently charged by the minute, with a minimum of fifteen minutes and no upper limit. A single question can often be answered within the minimum; a full reading of the chart, with several of life's questions in it, usually takes longer. We may add other formats over time, such as sessions of a set length; our client care team will always tell you what is available when you book.
Our rates differ between India and other countries, so rather than list them here, we share the latest pricing with you directly. For the latest pricing, please WhatsApp our client care team at +91-7009127641. Payment is made in advance, when your session is booked.
Booking, and changing a booking
Consultations are booked through our dedicated client care team on WhatsApp, at +91-7009127641. Online booking is on its way: soon you will be able to choose a time, manage your sessions and reach your astrologer directly on this site. The team is currently available Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm IST, and always does its best to help outside these hours as well. Simply send us the day you would prefer, with your birth date, time and place. If you live outside India, please mention your time zone too, so that we can suggest times that suit you.

You can currently book up to two months ahead. If your plans change, you can reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice, and we will move your session to another time. We hold ourselves to the same standard: if we ever need to move a session, we will let you know at least 24 hours in advance, and your session is moved, never cancelled.
Because each session is reserved for you in advance, payments are non-refundable; with 24 hours' notice, though, you can always move your session instead. The one exception is a consultation that is not delivered at all: its payment is credited to your Astro River wallet, never back to the original payment method. A session that is missed without notice counts as delivered, because your astrologer's time was reserved for it. The full terms are in our Refund Policy.
What to have ready
Your birth date, time and place. The time matters most. The lagna changes roughly every two hours, and much of what a chart says about your life — your work, your home, your marriage — is read from it. Even an hour's difference can move it.
If your birth time is written on a certificate or a hospital record, please use that. If your family remembers it as "around sunrise" or "just after lunch", simply tell us so; there is no need to round it to a neat number. An honest approximation helps your astrologer far more than a precise-sounding guess.
If you do not know your birth time, your astrologer can work from a Prashna Kundli, a chart cast for the moment your question is asked. Prashna is a classical method of Jyotish. It speaks most clearly to the present: where things stand now, and how the coming months are likely to unfold. For a full reading of your life, we can first recover your birth time. Birth-time rectification is its own piece of work: hours spent matching the chart against the events of your life, returning a one-page document with the rectified time and an explanation of how it was reached. It is available now — please connect with our dedicated client care team on WhatsApp, who will be glad to help.

Your questions. It helps to write your questions down beforehand, so that nothing important is remembered only after the session has ended. Every question is welcome; the chart is read with the same care whether you ask about a promotion or about whether to forgive someone.
What happens in the session
Your astrologer builds the chart from your birth details and reads it with you, live, in the order described above. Often the reading begins with what the chart shows before you have asked anything: the overall shape of your life, where it has been difficult, and where it is strong.
Then your astrologer takes your questions one at a time, answering each from your own chart rather than from the general character of your sign. Where the chart does not clearly support an answer, you will be told so honestly — we would rather say that than offer you an answer your chart does not hold.
Where your chart calls for a remedy, one is prescribed for your chart specifically, not for your sign or your star. Parashari remedies — those of the classical texts that follow the sage Parashara — and standard Vedic remedies come first and do the main work. Lal Kitab measures, from a later book of quick remedies, are used sparingly and only for quick relief, never as the main prescription, because used as a shortcut they can rebound. A gemstone is recommended only where your chart genuinely supports one. If any part of a remedy is not clear to you afterwards, your astrologer may ask you to message our client care team, who will explain it to you step by step.
Your notes, and why we do not send a recording
We do not send a recording, a transcript or a written summary after the session, and there is a reason for it. Our astrologers' days are full, and during your session their complete attention is on your chart. That full focus is what allows them to give you the most careful reading, and the remedies that are right for your chart. We would rather give all of it to you on the call than divide it with write-ups afterwards; it is one of the ways we make sure the quality of every reading is never compromised.
You are very welcome to take your own notes, or to record the call for your personal reference.
If you would like something written that you can keep and return to, that is what our Inscriptions are for — written reports on one area of your chart, prepared with care and delivered as a document. They are a separate service from the consultation.
Who reads your chart
Consultations are taken by senior astrologers of the Institute, each trained by our founder, Dr. Armaan Sharma, in his own method — classical Parashari and Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP, the twentieth-century sub-lord method), with the Institute's own weighting of Ashtakavarga, developed over three decades of his study and practice. Whoever takes your consultation reads the chart in the same order and with the same conventions: Lahiri ayanamsa, the true node for Rahu and Ketu, Vimshottari (the 120-year system of planetary periods) as the primary dasha, with Yogini (a shorter, 36-year system) as the check.
Sessions are currently held in English, Hindi and Punjabi — the languages in which we can train and examine every one of our astrologers ourselves.
What you can expect
We do not offer free five-minute readings. Your most important questions deserve more time than that, and a rushed answer tends to be a general one. We would rather give you a proper reading of your whole chart, which is why our consultations have a minimum length.
A consultation is not fortune-telling. Your chart shows conditions, strengths and timing — where the ground is firm and where it is soft, and when a period opens or closes. It does not show a fixed future that you are simply walking towards. Your astrologer will tell you what the chart supports, what it does not, and where the reading ends and your own judgement comes in.
For medical, legal and financial decisions, please rely on professionals who are qualified to advise you. An astrologer can describe what a period looks like; a doctor can tell you what your body is doing.
Three ways to work with us
The Institute offers three things, and they work best in this order.
Our pages are free, and will stay free. Everything the framework can say in general — the mansions, the houses, the dashas, the sky overhead this year — is published openly, and computed rather than repeated. Many people find all they need there.
An Inscription takes one area of your chart and works it through in full. These are the Institute's written reports: the nakshatra and sub-lord Inscription places every planet to its pada and its sub; the wealth and marriage Inscriptions do the same for the houses that govern them; a transit Inscription reads one planet's movement against your own chart. You read it at your own pace, and it is yours to keep.
A private consultation reads your whole chart, live. Lagna, Moon, sub-lords, dasha and the transits overhead, with your questions at the centre. It is where your astrologer can bring everything together in a way no page or document can.
Questions we are often asked
How does an online astrologer consultation work? Message our client care team on WhatsApp at +91-7009127641 to book a time, and send your birth date, time and place. At your booked time, your astrologer draws up your chart and reads it with you, live, on an audio call or by chat. Online booking on this site is coming soon.
Can I book a consultation from outside India? Yes. The Institute has given consultations to clients around the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the UAE (including Dubai), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, and you are welcome wherever you live. Sessions take place online, so you can join from anywhere; please tell us your time zone when you book.
How long does it last, and what does it cost? At present, as long as you need, with a fifteen-minute minimum, charged by the minute. For the latest pricing, please WhatsApp our client care team at +91-7009127641; payment is made in advance.
When can I reach you? Our client care team is currently available Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm IST, on WhatsApp at +91-7009127641, and always does its best to reply outside these hours as well.
How is the consultation held? At present, on an audio call or by chat, whichever you prefer. Please let us know when you book.
Can I reschedule, or get a refund? You can reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice, and we give you the same notice if we ever need to move a session. Payments are non-refundable; the only exception is a consultation that is not delivered at all, whose payment is credited to your Astro River wallet, never to the original payment method.
What if I miss my session? Your astrologer's time is reserved for you alone and kept free for your session, so a session missed without notice counts as a consultation delivered, and it is not refunded or credited. If your plans change, please reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice.
How is a Vedic consultation different from a Western one? The zodiac. Vedic astrology is sidereal, measured against the fixed stars; Western astrology is tropical, measured from the equinox. The gap between them, the ayanamsa, is a little over 24 degrees today. The two disagree by almost a whole sign, which is why your Vedic Sun sign is usually the one before your Western one. Vedic practice also runs on the dasha system, which dates events, and on the twenty-seven nakshatras, which a tropical chart does not use.
Do I get a recording or written notes? We do not send a recording or notes after the session, so that your astrologer's full attention stays on your chart during it. You are welcome to take your own notes or record the call for your personal reference. If you would like something written to keep, an Inscription is the right choice.
What if I do not understand a remedy after my session? Please message our client care team on WhatsApp at +91-7009127641. Your astrologer may suggest this too; the team will explain the remedy to you step by step.
What languages can I have my consultation in? Currently English, Hindi or Punjabi.
Do I need to know my exact birth time? Exact is best; honest is essential. Tell your astrologer how certain the time is, and the reading will be pitched accordingly. If you do not know your birth time, your astrologer can answer your questions from a Prashna Kundli, a chart cast for the moment you ask, which speaks most clearly to your present situation and the months ahead. For a full reading of your life, birth-time rectification is available as a separate service — please connect with our client care team on WhatsApp.
What can I ask about? Whatever brings you to us — work, money, marriage, family, health worries, a decision with a deadline, or a period that has been hard and has not lifted. The chart is read whole in any case: even when you ask only about your career, the fourth, seventh and fifth houses are read too, because a career question is rarely only a career question.
Will you tell me something frightening? Your astrologer will tell you honestly what the chart shows, including any difficult periods, because a difficulty you can see coming is one you can prepare for. You will never be told that you are cursed, that a calamity is fixed, or that paying for something will avert it. That is not how the Institute reads, and it is not what the classical texts teach.
This page describes a consultation service. It is not medical, legal or financial advice.
To have your own chart read — lagna, Moon, sub-lords, dasha and this year's transits together — we would be glad to hear from you.
